It has come to my attention that some cats still haven't taught their humans HTML, or lack the means to create their own web pages. If you're a Scottish Fold without a home page and would like to see yourself here on Jerome's Buddies, read my How to be a Buddy page then e-mail me.

Gus, Max and Teddi
It's a three-Fold household from my mom's old hometown of Tucson, Arizona! These kitties love to sit on their perches in the windows and watch lizards outside racing up and down the walls. In fact, occasionally a lizard gets inside the screen and races up and down on the window, which drives them beserk. They'll watch it for hours while standing up against the window on the inside and pawing at the lizard. High stress for the lizard, eh?
Their human dad is in the military and currently stationed in Egypt. Gus, Max and Teddi all miss their dad terribly and can't wait for him to come home! |

Gus
Gus is three years old here and works part-time as a pet therapist at a local nursing home. He was featured in "Feline Friends" in Cat Fancy magazine in July, 1998.
Among the funny things he does, he likes to chew on his human's toothbrush. (Yuck!) He's also into the Buddha sit and "spot" chasing.

Max
Max is also a pet therapist. He loves to share Fiber One cereal with his person, who refers to him as the "ADHD" kitty.
Sounds like another straight-ear we know around here. <hehe! Gizmo, are you listening?> |
|
Teddi
Teddi is a sweet, sensitive, tender-hearted girl who's a bit camera shy. She always likes to sit with her back up against a straight, hard object (like a wall) with all four of her feet in one pile. Flexible, eh? She also has the tiniest meow you've ever heard and uses it so infrequently that when she does, SHE MEANS BUSINESS!

Poor MacTavish has been set up in this picture. Click the thumbnail for more detail. |
MacTavish
MacTavish (originally known as MacMoose) was destined to be a show cat and did that jig long enough to earn his Grand Premiership in CFA. When his show mom decided that her life needed fewer cats, she offered Moose to a friend's mom, who had greatly admired him.
Marge took Moose in a heartbeat, having never forgotten his adorable folded face. Moose was newly christened MacTavish to signal a new beginning. MacTavish quickly learned how to walk on a leash.
Marge eventually moved to Florida, not knowing that this was MacTavish's birthplace. He had travelled from Florida to New Hampshire, to Massacheusetts and back to Florida again. MacTavish now resides in St. Augustine with his beloved Marge. |

Mac Mahor Mackensie (AKA "Wild Thing")
Mac was originally named "Wild Thing" when he was a kitten. He was such a shy quiet kitten with the biggest eyes that looked startled every time you would say his name. He was anything but wild except in looks. Mac hails from Celtic Cross/Crosshill Cattery in Canada where he occasionally performs (ahem!) stud services.
Gotta love that gorgeous blue coat! Remind you of anyone?

Karnaki Isle o' Skye
This lovely lady is the first South African bred Scottish Fold to attain the title of Supreme Champion -- her mother came from Belgium several years ago.
This photo was taken by Steve Cousins of Visual Concepts at the show where she achieved her title.

In Memorium:
Soxy (AKA Sparkey), Honorary Scottish Fold
1998 - Forever in our Hearts
Soxy was not born of Scottish Fold parentage, but due to a freak accident (he played in an electricity sub-station and took 11,000 volts!) his ears came to resemble those of a Scottish Fold. In recognition of his courage in the face of adversity, Jerome's Home recently bestowed upon Soxy its first-ever "Honorary Scottish Fold" award.
We are deeply saddened to report that Soxy's body was found on September 15, 1999. Somehow the garden gate had been left open and he once again strayed into that dreaded electricity sub-station.
Since his accident, Soxy had found a new calling and spent his last months making fund-raising appearances for various animal charities in the UK. He had become quite the television and newspaper celebrity and was even featured on CNN. Soxy touched the lives of many, bringing smiles and joy wherever he went. He will be sorely missed.
Soxy's people, Steve and Tricia, and his best buddies Zella and Lady (dog-pals) are devastated, and our hearts go out to them. Steve has written a very touching poem in tribute, which you can read at Sparkey's official web site.
